The ancient traditions give us a great teaching that has been echoed more recently by modern day traditions though channels such as Eckhart Tolle, Ram Dass and A Course in Miracles. The teaching is: ‘it’s all here now,’ or as Christ described it ‘the kingdom of heaven is in our midst.’
In one of my favourite TV series ‘The Hitchhikers Guide the Galaxy’ a super- computer called ‘Deep Thought’ is constructed on a far away planet. This computer is given the task of providing the greatest answer to the greatest question ever asked … ‘The meaning of Life, the universe and everything.’ After a lifetime of contemplation the computer finally tells us the answer. The ultimate answer to the meaning of life, the universe and everything, is ‘42’
But perhaps the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything, as we are told in books such as the ‘Power of Now’ is be present. However what we have to figure out over time is how to do that.
Christ tells us that the essence of being present and the way we can tell how we are doing on this journey is through love, so again we then have to figure out the bigger question of …
How to do that?!
Luckily we have many great masters who have plugged in to the great beyond and were able to leave footprints in the snow for us to follow. One of the main protagonists for the inner journey of personal enlightenment was the Buddha. If Christ was a teacher of awakening the heart, then Buddha came to show us how to awaken the Buddhi , the pure mind, or ‘that which knows’. Which is why that after his death he came to be known by the title of Buddha, the Enlightened One.
The Taoists give us a bigger picture and take it even further, saying there are actually three components which need to be awakened if we want to bring heaven to earth in the context of our own experience.
Upper Dantien Shen (wisdom/buddhi/intellect)
Middle Dantien Chi (love/feeling/vibration)
Lower Dantien Jing (health/body/vitality)
I don’t know what good luck or Karma we have accumulated to have discovered these truths and to have come across this amazing system of Infinite Tai Chi, as I must say I haven’t found anything that comes close as a system of integrating heaven and earth energetically.

We need an energy system which has been trained towards happiness, light, joy and love-‘emotional health’ as it’s now called. And we need a body which we train to perform at its own optimal best, depending on individual circumstances, which we call physical health.
When we have this lighter vibration in our body, emotions and mind we can become the still and radiant reflection of the Buddha nature. In Buddhism this is likened to the moon reflecting on a calm lake.
So yes it is all here now but the question is : are we training ourselves amongst the turmoil of the world to be ‘all here now’ too?
Or during this time of global transition are we getting lost in the fearful collective thought patterns?
Are we training ourselves daily to meet the world with a calm mind, a loving heart and a vibrant body, are we bringing light to the darkness or are we just adding more darkness to the darkness?
This is the ongoing test of our awakening and as one of my teachers put it beautifully, are we becoming “A boat on the ocean of samsara, are we in the world but not of it, can we be in the turmoil of the world but to not let that turmoil inside of us?”
