Connect to Your Soul
Awakening is about becoming more and more conscious: conscious of what? Well first of all, awakening means that we become conscious of our own soul, or core being. We need to connect to a spark of light, or a seed of eternal life, deep within us that represents our real-self. Then as we awake some more, we have to keep cultivating and protecting this fragile seed of life because everything in this world will conspire to obscure it once again.
How do you connect to your soul? Just keep raising your consciousness on a daily basis, for example by meditating for say 20 minutes twice a day, until you have an unmistakable experience of your own soul that lies deep within you. It may take you quite some time and effort before you know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you are an eternal soul rather than just a personality-self in a physical body, but this knowledge will miraculously transform every aspect of your life.
Re-Programme Your Mind
Do you realise how much junk you have stored in your own mind? In fact, your mind is now just like a computer hard drive that has been completely corrupted by a load of virus ridden software. If you long to live a life filled with love, peace and joy, it is not enough to open your heart and then connect to your soul. You also have to clear a load of negative programming out of your mind. For example, if you have a strongly held belief that you are not attractive or loveable, how likely is it that you will meet someone who will give you the love that you are not giving to yourself?
So please start to challenge all of your negative beliefs about yourself and the world, and replace them with positive beliefs, such as ‘I am infinitely abundant’, or ‘I am loving and loveable’. Do not wait for the external world to change. Change your own mind and you will see a very different world. I guarantee it!
Commit Small Daily Acts of Kindness
All of our self-centred concerns about ‘me’ just make us fearful and miserable in the long run. One of the simplest and most powerful ways to increase our joy and fulfilment in life is to focus on making others happy. If we just commit to performing a small act of kindness on a daily basis, we will soon find that our sense of well-being is increasing, and we will no longer feel as though our life is devoid of any real purpose or meaning.
