Finding Real Meaning in Our Lives
JASON’S MONTHLY MESSAGE
How are you feeling today? Are you full of the joys of the beginnings of spring, or are you feeling a little bit under the weather?
Normal, unawakened human existence can be quite painful and meaningless if we believe we are just personality-selves in bodies that age and die. No wonder so many young people in our society get drunk or take drugs every weekend to blot out their underlying pain and anxiety! So many people hate Mondays and look forwards to getting drunk on Friday evenings – but what sort of life is that?
Before we awake, most of us are sleep-walking through our lives in an unconscious state of mind. But then, some of us start to connect to the deep longing of our soul to awake and to find a much deeper meaning to life. I was so blessed to awake in my early thirties, because since then, I have found an incredibly liberating meaning to life. I just pray that you too find the real meaning of life.
Most people in our modern society believe that if they have a good career, a high income and a happy family they will find lasting fulfilment. But sadly, many individuals have a good career, plenty of money and a reasonably happy family life and still do not feel fulfilled. Why is this? It is primarily because they are still ignoring the deeper longing of their soul to awake and to break free from being trapped in the pernicious egoic thought system which is full of fear and attack.
Until you answer the yearning of your heart, you will just become more frustrated and disappointed with life. However, answering this call to awake takes courage, because sooner or later on any genuine awakening path, you will have to look directly at your negative egoic programming – the shadow self.
You certainly need wisdom, maturity and courage to follow a genuine awakening path back home to the ultimate truth about life. But if you do not do so, you will never find lasting satisfaction in life, even if you become a billionaire with a yacht, a private jet and a trophy partner. You can easily win the world, but lose your soul. Please don’t do this, or you will end up betraying yourself and hating yourself for the rest of your life.
A core aspect of the awakening journey is to observe the many ways in which our own minds cause us to suffer. If you sit quietly and observe your own mind for a while, you will notice that thoughts just keep popping up all of the time, whether you want to think or not. If you observe these thoughts for long enough, you will also notice that many of them are pretty negative, and virtually all of them are self-centred, ‘What about me?’ thoughts.
Our mind is supposed to be our servant, but for eons of time we have become enslaved by an egoic thought system that is negative, and ultimately destructive. For example, you have a deep longing to fulfil a beautiful dream, such as becoming a great artist or a wealthy philanthropist, and your own mind will insist ‘Who are you to think you could do anything so grand?
Why is your own mind working against you like this? Why is your mind always full of fearful thoughts or attacking judgemental thoughts? These are brilliant questions to ask, but even if I told you how all these dangerous thoughts began, your logical mind simply would not believe me. So instead, in the rest of this message I am going to give you some really practical tools that you can use every day of your life to rise above this negative thought system and into the light, in order to make the rest of your life truly meaningful and fulfilling.
The first key to transcending all of your negative thoughts is simply to stop believing them. You notice a thought popping into your mind such as, ‘I am not attractive.’ ‘I am so poor.’ or ‘I am so stupid.’ and you simply refuse to believe it. You keep telling yourself that all self-sabotaging thoughts like these are just corrupt programming, and so you are going to delete them one by one. ‘I have no money in my bank account. I am so poor and depressed!’ But these “beliefs” are simply not true.
If you are afraid of losing your job, you home or your partner, you are trapped in the negative programming. You mind has been accustomed to entertaining endless fearful thoughts, and then the dark energy generated by all these thoughts keeps dragging you down into lower and lower levels of consciousness. Do not allow your own programmed mind to do this to you! Promise yourself that you will do everything in your power to delete your negative programming, raise your consciousness, and live day by day in love, peace, joy and harmony.
If you meditate regularly, and/or practise Infinite Tai Chi and Chi Kung each day, you will eventually connect to a higher light or consciousness that can give you the spiritual power you will need to clear all of the corrupted programming out of your mind. Of course, doing this deep healing work is often challenging, and also takes some time, because some of our programming is in our subconscious mind rather than our conscious mind.
We all have so much fear and anger stored deep in our own minds, much of which is below the level of our conscious awareness. But as we keep raising our consciousness up into the light, the light will inevitably start to reveal all of this stored, hidden darkness so that we can consciously delete or release it.
An awakening mind that is connected to a higher light or wisdom can definitely begin to look calmly at the programmed mind so that we can consciously remove all the old programming that is not serving our highest good. At the same time, as we learn the life-saving art of meditation, we can begin to expand our consciousness into a natural state of being that is filled with love, peace and light. Life then becomes deeply meaningful and incredibly fulfilling, as we finally begin to manifest our true potential as beautiful, innocent, radiant beings. Doesn’t this sound worth the effort of daily practice to you? It certainly does to me, which is why I practise the Infinite Arts every single day of my life without fail.
Peace and Blessings
